Only reality
In the midst of a tale
Of skies obscured by smoke
Enchanted layers of a haven
Beckon with silken voices
Unrepentant of faulty trust
Unforgiving of weaknesses too vast
I was looking with love
With eyelids too pink to suspect
Burdened by sights unseen
Trudging through mirrored dreams
Swallowing fate's laughter
Like the sweetest of wines
Burrowing into the safety of enclosing cliffs
Awaiting the crushing of tides
Of water too thick to breath
And an edge to mark
A break to foresee
A guileless craving to covet
With hands that shake from emptiness
With lips vacant of smiles
And a heart seeking a dawn
To end this night
